Your first
launch budget.
For a first MLM launch in India, the software itself can start from Rs 15,000 for ready-to-launch and Rs 35,000 for custom with Coded Idea. Crypto MLM starts from Rs 30,000 ready-to-launch or Rs 45,000 custom. Your full launch budget also includes payment gateway fees, SMS and email, hosting, support, product and legal costs, which you pay separately.
Most founders ask only about the software price. The ones who stay on budget plan the whole launch. This guide is written for a founder in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula or anywhere else in India who is about to buy MLM software for the first time. For plan-by-plan prices, see our MLM software price in India page.

What a first launch pays for
MLM launch budget checklist for a startup
Use this table to list every cost before you sign anything. “Who pays” shows whether the cost is usually inside the software quote or paid to someone else. Where a cost comes from a third party, check current provider rates before you budget.
| Item | Who pays | When needed |
|---|---|---|
| Compensation plan document (your rules, levels, bonuses, caps) | You, with our help in the discovery call | Before the quote |
| MLM software (plan engine, genealogy tree, e-wallet, admin dashboard, member back office, replicated websites, 2FA) | You, to Coded Idea (from Rs 15,000 ready-to-launch, from Rs 35,000 custom) | At project start, with milestones set in the written quote |
| KYC onboarding inside the software | Confirm in your written quote | Before first payout |
| KYC verification checks run through an outside provider (if you want automatic checks) | You, to the provider. Check current provider rates | Before first member onboarding |
| Payment gateway setup and per-transaction fees | You, to the gateway. Check current provider rates | Before first paid joining |
| SMS and OTP messages | You, to the SMS provider. Check current provider rates | Before launch |
| Email sending service | You, to the email provider. Check current provider rates | Before launch |
| Hosting, domain and SSL | You. Hosting and ownership terms are written into the quote | Before launch |
| Mobile app (Android or iOS), if wanted | You, agreed in the quote. Not needed on day one for most startups | After the web launch works |
| Post-launch support | Agree the support period and later terms in writing before you sign | From launch day |
| Product, stock, packaging and shipping | You | Before first sale |
| Company registration, GST, trademark and legal review | You, to your CA and lawyer | Before launch |
| Marketing, training and launch event | You | Launch month |
Third-party fees do not come through us, so ask each provider for its current rate card before you finalise your total.
Three launch paths: ready-to-launch, custom or hybrid
Path 1: Ready-to-launch MLM software (from Rs 15,000)
This is a proven base, set up with your plan, branding and payout rules. It fits you if your plan is standard (binary, unilevel, matrix or generation), you want to go live quickly and you want to test the market before spending more. Crypto ready-to-launch starts from Rs 30,000.
Path 2: Custom MLM software (from Rs 35,000)
The software is built around your rules. It fits you if your bonus structure is unusual, you need specific payout methods or reports, or you are migrating members from an old system. Custom crypto starts from Rs 45,000. The price depends on plan complexity, payout methods, apps, integrations and scale.
Path 3: Hybrid or enterprise (quoted after a call)
If you combine plans (for example binary with a unilevel bonus), need several currencies, or expect a large network from day one, the scope is too variable for a fixed list price. We quote it after a short call and then give you a fixed written quote.
Not sure which path fits? Send your plan document and we will tell you honestly. You can also read how our binary and unilevel builds differ.
Mistakes that waste money on a first MLM launch
- Buying custom when ready-to-launch would do. If your plan is standard, start simple and add features after you see real member behaviour.
- Starting with a mobile app. A working web back office comes first. Build apps once members actually ask for them.
- Choosing the plan by what looks exciting. A complicated plan costs more to build, is harder to explain to members and is harder to keep sustainable.
- Not testing payouts before launch. Run sample members through every bonus and check the numbers by hand.
- Ignoring recurring costs. Ask any vendor, including us, what you pay after launch for hosting, licences and support, and get it in writing.
- Skipping the ownership question. Ask who owns the source code and where the data lives.
- Judging only by the lowest price. A cheap quote that leaves out KYC, wallet or exports can cost more once you add them back.
- Leaving legal checks until after launch. India’s Direct Selling Rules 2021 and related consumer protection rules may apply to your business model, and pyramid and money circulation schemes are restricted under Indian law. This is general information, not legal advice. Have a qualified lawyer review your model before you launch.
Frequently asked questions
How much does MLM software cost for a startup in India?
With Coded Idea, ready-to-launch MLM software starts from Rs 15,000 and custom MLM software starts from Rs 35,000. Crypto MLM starts from Rs 30,000 ready-to-launch and Rs 45,000 custom. Hybrid and enterprise projects are quoted after a short call. Payment gateway, SMS, email, hosting and legal costs are separate.
What should a first-time MLM founder buy first?
Buy the core: plan engine, genealogy tree, e-wallet, KYC onboarding, admin dashboard and member back office. Add mobile apps, extra integrations and advanced reports later, once you have real members and real feedback.
What hidden costs should I plan for?
Plan for payment gateway fees, SMS and OTP charges, email sending, hosting, any outside KYC verification checks, ongoing support, product stock, and legal and accounting fees. For third-party items, check current provider rates before you set your budget.
Is ready-to-launch MLM software good enough for a new business?
Yes, if your compensation plan is standard and you want to go live quickly. It lets you test the market at a lower cost. If you later need unusual bonuses or special reports, you can move to a custom build.
Is MLM legal in India, and does that affect my budget?
Direct selling is regulated in India, including under the Consumer Protection (Direct Selling) Rules, 2021, and pyramid or money circulation schemes are restricted. Rules can change and depend on your model, so set aside a budget for a lawyer to review your plan. This is general information, not legal advice.
How do I get an exact quote for my launch?
Send us your compensation plan document or a rough idea. We review it on a short call and send a fixed written quote. The price you approve is the price you pay for the agreed scope.
