A good MLM software demo shows your own plan running end to end: a test joining, a test order, a commission run you checked by hand, a withdrawal and the admin back office. Judge the demo by those four things, not by how the screens look. Use the 12-point check below before you pay any advance.
This guide is for founders choosing MLM software in India. We are Coded Idea, an MLM software company in Mohali (Sector 127), near Chandigarh, with 100+ software projects delivered. You can compare vendors with our 12-question vendor scorecard; this page covers the demo itself.

Why the demo matters more than the brochure
Every MLM software vendor shows clean screens. What separates them is whether the commission engine produces the right number for your plan. A demo is the one cheap moment to test that, before money, members and a launch date are involved.
So bring your plan to the demo. If you run a binary plan, work through the pairing example in our binary commission calculator guide and ask the vendor to reproduce it. For other plans, see the binary vs unilevel comparison first.
A 60-minute demo plan
| Minutes | What to see | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 10 | Join three test members under one sponsor | Tree, sponsor and placement update immediately |
| 10 to 20 | Place test orders with known volumes | BV or PV lands on the right members |
| 20 to 35 | Run one commission cycle | Each payout line matches your hand calculation |
| 35 to 45 | Wallet, withdrawal and approval | Ledger shows request, approval and TDS or charges |
| 45 to 60 | Admin back office and reports | Plan settings, KYC, logs and exports are all reachable |
How to prepare your test numbers
- Pick three or four members with different volumes, including one that triggers carry forward or a rank change.
- Work out the expected payout by hand before the call and keep it hidden until the vendor shows theirs.
- Write down the rules you want tested: caps, minimum payout, cycle length and any rank condition.
- Ask for a screen share of the back office, not only the member view.
Red flags in a demo
- No live payout. A recorded video of a payout is not the same as running one with your numbers.
- Everything is “custom later”. If a feature you need is not in the demo, get it in the written scope with a price.
- No back office. If you only see member screens, you have not seen where mistakes are fixed.
- Unexplained numbers. You should be able to click a commission line and see how it was calculated.
- Pressure to pay first. Ask for the demo, the written scope and the price in that order.
Tick through the MLM software features checklist for modules, and read the e-pin, wallet and payout guide if payouts are your main concern. For rules you must follow, see Direct Selling Rules 2021 for MLM founders.

Frequently asked questions
What should I ask for in an MLM software demo?
Ask to see your own plan running, not a slide deck: a test joining, a test order, a commission run and a withdrawal, with the numbers shown in the back office. A demo on sample data that looks nothing like your plan proves very little.
How long should an MLM software demo take?
Plan for about an hour for a first demo of one plan. If the vendor cannot show joining, an order, one payout run and the admin screens in that time, the product is probably not ready to launch.
Should I test the demo with my own commission numbers?
Yes. Prepare three or four members with known volumes and work out the expected payout by hand first. Then compare it with what the software shows. A mismatch found in a demo costs nothing; the same mismatch found after launch costs trust.
Is a ready-made demo login enough?
A ready-made login lets you click around, but it does not prove the software fits your plan. Use it for a first look, then ask for a demo configured with your plan type, levels, rank rules and payout cycle.
What is the biggest red flag in a demo?
A vendor who will not show the back office, will not run a payout live, or cannot explain how a commission line was calculated. Also be careful if every answer is ‘we can customise that later’ without a written scope.
How much does MLM software cost?
At Coded Idea, MLM software starts from ₹15,000 ready-to-launch and ₹35,000 custom; crypto MLM software starts from ₹30,000 and ₹45,000. Hybrid and enterprise scopes are quoted after a call.
