Short answer

An MLM mobile app is the phone front end for your MLM software: members log in, view their genealogy tree and wallet, order products and receive alerts, while the plan engine and payouts run on the web back office. Build and prove the back office first, launch the member app on Android (and iOS) next, and keep a mobile-friendly web portal as a fallback.

This guide is for founders and product owners planning an MLM app in India. We are Coded Idea, an MLM software company in Mohali (Sector 127), near Chandigarh, with 100+ software projects delivered. We build member apps as part of our MLM software development and cross-platform Flutter app development. We are a vendor, so use the checks below on any quote you get. This is general information, not legal advice.

What a member app should and should not do

Members open an MLM app for four things: to see what they earned, to see their team, to place an order and to get an alert. If those four are fast and correct, the app has done its job. Everything else is optional in the first release.

The app does not calculate commission. It shows what the software behind it calculated. That is why a good app is only as good as the plan engine and wallet underneath. Our binary commission calculator shows how the engine works for one plan, and the e-pin, e-wallet and payout guide shows how credits and withdrawals should be recorded.

Web portal first, or app first?

Most networks should start with a mobile-friendly web member portal, because one web build works on every phone, ships faster and is easy to correct while the plan is still changing. Add the app when members ask for it, or when you need push alerts and a home-screen icon. If your members are almost all on phones and expect an app from day one, plan the app early, but still finish the back office first.

Android, iOS and Flutter

Android is often the first launch in India because that is where most members are. A cross-platform framework such as Flutter lets one codebase produce both Android and iOS apps, so adding iOS later is mostly about store review and testing rather than a second build. A native build per platform can feel smoother for heavy screens, but it means two codebases to keep in step. Choose by launch order and budget, and ask any vendor which approach the quote assumes.

Store review: plan for it

  • Both stores review apps. Wallets, referral rewards and money features get a closer look, so read the current policies before you fix a launch date: Google Play developer policies and the Apple App Store Review Guidelines.
  • Keep the wallet simple. A commission-only wallet that pays out to the member’s own bank account is easier to explain to a reviewer than one that holds top-up money.
  • Keep the web portal live so members are never locked out while an update waits in review.

Security checks before launch

  1. Sign-in. OTP or two-factor sign-in, session expiry and a way to log out old devices.
  2. Sensitive screens. Wallet and KYC data travel over HTTPS and are not cached on the phone.
  3. Admin approvals. Withdrawals and KYC approvals need a second check, and every action is logged.
  4. Test with real plan data. Run a test cycle and compare the app balance with the back office ledger.
  5. Rollback. Know how a bad release is pulled and which version members will see.

Price: where it is quoted

At Coded Idea, MLM software starts from ₹15,000 (ready-to-launch) and ₹35,000 (custom); crypto MLM software starts from ₹30,000 (ready) and ₹45,000 (custom). The mobile app is quoted inside your scope, because it depends on the plan engine and wallet behind it. Frequently asked questions

What is an MLM mobile app?

It is the phone app members and leaders use to log in, see their genealogy tree and wallet, place orders and read alerts. It is a front end: the plan engine, wallet and payouts run on the MLM software behind it.

Should I launch the MLM web portal or the app first?

Most startups launch a mobile-friendly web member portal first, prove the plan and payouts, and add the app once members ask for it. If your members are almost all on phones, plan the app early but still build the back office first.

Android only, or Android and iOS?

Many Indian networks start with Android because most of their members use it, then add iOS. One cross-platform codebase (for example Flutter) can cover both, so the decision is about launch order and store review, not two separate builds.

Can an MLM app be published on Google Play and the App Store?

Often yes, but both stores review apps and read their policies closely for referral rewards, wallets and money features. Read the current Google Play and Apple developer policies before you commit to a launch date, and keep a mobile-friendly web portal as a fallback.

What should the admin control from a phone?

Approvals such as withdrawals and KYC, order status and alerts are useful on a phone. Plan changes, payout runs and reports are safer on the web back office, where an admin can preview before money moves.

How much does an MLM mobile app cost?

At Coded Idea the app is quoted inside your MLM software scope, because it depends on the plan engine and wallet behind it. MLM software starts from ₹15,000 ready-to-launch and ₹35,000 custom; the app price is in your written quote. See the MLM app development cost page for what changes the price.
